A lot of Boston’s troubles offensive can be attributed to the success of G Cam Ward. With shutouts in two of his L/5 games, Ward has single-handedly carried the Canes to victory at times. He is starting to look like the goaltender that led Carolina to the Stanley Cup in 2006. That year, he went 15-8 with a 2.14 GAA, and pitched two critical shutouts in the process. Ward has stopped at least 91% of his shots in seven of his L/9 games, which is critical for a team that loves to play up and down hockey. Carolina’s penalty kill unit only ranked 19th in the NHL this season (80.3%), but it is still perfect for the Boston series. If that continues, the Canes should advance to the Final Four of the NHL.

Boston won the last game 4-0 but Carolina leads the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series 3-2. Games 6 is scheduled for Tuesday in Raleigh, N.C. just watch it
