India vs South Africa 2nd Test (266/9) day 1 score

14 February 2010 122 No Comment

India takes on South Africa in the 2nd Test at Kolkata Eden Garden ground. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. After Smith lost the wicket, Amla and Peterson played a steady innings and put the Indian bowlers in to trouble. both the players hit the hundreds for their team and the partnership by both the batsmen came to an end when Zaheer Khan came in to attack.

Gorgeous hundred from Amla and a hundred on debut by Petersen pushed South Africa to a commanding position at tea break when it happened. Kallis decided to play a slog sweep but was done in by the topspinner from Harbhajan and by a good catch from VVS Laxman. The doors were ajar and the Indians gatecrashed into the South African party. Harbhajan picked a few more in a blink and South Africa were on the back foot. The crowd too got involved after the first wicket and it led to a dramatic final session.
